Understanding Resilience for Maximizing Teacher & Student Well-being
Understanding Resilience for Maximizing Teacher & Student Well-being
This workshop introduces a state-of-the-art definition of natural resilience as well as the principles of how we operate to tap this resilience. Teachers and students have discovered their own natural capacity for well-being and have developed personal awareness with a natural outcome of increased social responsibility. Upon completion of this workshop, particiants will be able to understand resilience as a natural capacity, identify resilience as the ability to navigate life successfully, and understand how we operate to realize resilience and well-being.
Christa has experience at the primary, intermediate and secondary levels in the K-12 education system as a Classroom Teacher, Learning Services Teacher in Special Education and Teache-Leader of School-based Teams. Throughout this varied experience, she benefited from an understanding of principles she encountered when she was a university "pre-service" teacher. Even a first glimmer of this knowledge impacted her teaching and learning capabilities. Most recently, with an education team, she has produced a comprehensive Pre-K - 12 curriculum called "My Guide Inside".
