"Knowledge is Power" - Practical Strategies to Foster Inclusion in Your Classroom
"Knowledge is Power" is a workshop meant for all educators who want to feel inspired and learn how incorporating inclusion into their personal teaching practice can be easier than they think. Through personal narrative, Carolyn shares her story of being a parent to a neurodiverse son and how she bridges the gap between being a parent advocate, to knowing the realities of the classroom. She shares six practical strategies that are easy and will inspire action to inclusive teaching.
Carolyn Turkington, MEd, is an inclusive educator of twelve years, Queens University facilitator, storyteller, and mom to a neurodiverse son. She is passionate about helping students see their full potential and, in turn, loves to help teachers see that with a few minor tweaks, their practice can be inclusive, safe, and offer a place of true learning for all students.
