Bridging the Gap Between High School and Beyond
Bridging the Gap Between High School and Beyond
Meaningful transition plans set students up for success as they finish high school. From fostering independence to cultivating social and vocational skills, this workshop helps educators envision a positive and possible future for all students. We’ll check out what research says regarding this critical time in a young person’s life and consider how to apply this information. Participants are invited to share strategies that are currently working in their schools and learn about new resources, strategies and ideas.
Kristin works part time at Camosun College (Life Skills for Work Coordinator) and part time with the Sooke School District (Inclusion Coach). She works with Inclusion Support teachers to plan meaningful transitions to adult life. She is passionate about creating conditions for students' dreams to be honoured and thoughtfully supported. She also creates infographics to share with other educators (northstarpaths.com). You may have seen her work on social media or a bulletin board near you.
