Creatively Engaging ALL Learners

In this session, we’ll learn ways to creatively engage with learners with notable social, emotional, and behavioral needs through discussing:
  • Strategies to support listening and participation 
  • The importance of rapport and clear guidelines
  • The REiL building blocks, namely Rapport, Engagement, Imagination & Creativity, and Learners 
  • Relevant case scenarios brought forward by participants
  • Accessing imagination & creativity beyond the Arts

Katy is the founder of REiL Learning, an educational consultancy that supports school and out of school programs integrate social emotional learning and build creative ways to engage all learners, particularly those with notable social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Katy holds a master’s degree in educational leadership, specializing in adult education and brings a wealth of experience as a teacher, counsellor, adult educator, and sessional instructor at Vancouver Island University.
